China’s 6th Plenum: Political ruptures and its implications for Europe


In November 2021, The 6th Plenum provided an opportunity for Chinese leaders to reflect on the history of the Communist Party of China and paved the way for a third presidential term for Xi Jinping. Both elements mark a departure from the institutional and political praxes of post-Mao China and will likely feed into the deterioration of the relationship between Beijing and the EU
